Well, I suggested you were approaching the money, but let's see: there are MBP's from the Apple Refurb shop with full warranty starting at around a $1,000 that Logic would run great on. (I've gotten two computers from there, they both seemed brand new to me, and could have been unsolds.) Full version of Logic Pro is $499, an astonishing value for your money. If you already have Logic Express the upgrade is only $300. I think the VB3 was about 69 bucks. If you already have an appropriate controller keyboard, you're all set. Even with going for a brand new MBP, and the new ones are absolute screamers, you're in the neighborhood.
