Yep! Even the band's name was a message in itself. Made me think of
cereal, although they might've had another meaning for it.

But the songs do stand and they had covered a gamut of styles for being
a 60's pop/rock band. Rain On The Roof. I remember Nashville Cats, a
tribute to musos in Nashville and how great Nashville guys can play. LS
combined different instruments. You Didn't Have To Be So Nice. Great
intro guitar/autoharp riffs and combination with organ rambling riff.
Very effective use of tones, and strumming techniques, the strong
guitar/autoharp and the soft flutey organ and then the vocal harmonies.
Excellent arrangement. That "everything playing" idea..

Do You Believe in Magic. Another GREAT John tune still covered today.

Younger Girl. I really like this song. She's one of those girls...

I'm getting retro fever..

Very true..Every new song had something different..Everyone trying to
"one-up" or at least keep up with the Beatles!!
Actually I have a greatest hits Lovin' Spoonful CD & it is quite
listeneable & still holds it's own today. Nashville Cat's &
Daydream...Younger Girl..You & Me & Rain On The Roof..All great songs..
Trivia........The Lovin' Spoonful were first considered for the role of
the Monkees..because of their zany antics & great songs..They turned it
down or were reconsidered..not sure..
