I have worked in theater and concert sound as well and the speakers described here are MI equipment sold in music stores. In the larger
theatrical or concert productions you are working in the Midas/Meyer realm which is in a whole different league. I don't know
why EV wasn't included in this article since they have speakers that compete in the MI range that are quite good. Perhaps they
just didn't supply demos for whatever reason and therefor were not included.

Yeah, I may have been a bit harsh by saying "poor article". Actually it is a good article that does indeed include important considerations of regular musicians (as Bruce points out).

Being a professional theatre designer I work with a lot of sound guys. EV is still considered a leader in high quality sound reinforcement systems. Judging from the Keyboard mag forum, many keyboardists use EV gear, especially SRX450s.
