Subject:Re: Anybody try the B3 emulation on a Kurzweil PC3 series?

There are yet more improvements on the way. The new "Big Leslie" effect amounts to a Leslie (in KDFX effects) feeding another Leslie (in KDFX effects). However, the 2.01 implementation has vibrato and chorus feeding both segments, so it becomes exaggerated. I received the first beta of OS 2.02 Saturday morning, and that has now been corrected. My own personal focus in the beta team is KB3 mode and acoustic pianos - and a number of my suggestions during the OS 1.35 to OS 2.00 prolonged series of beta releases were implemented by the programmers at Kurzweil (I'm sure, along with suggestions from a lot of others, I don't really know exactly how many are on the beta program.)

The particularly exciting thing to me is that Kurzweil is listening to their customer base, and implementing changes to improve the product. I've had my PC3X for three years now, and it is a far better keyboard than it was the day I received it.

There are something in the neighborhood of eighty separate KDFX "studios" that are differently programmed Leslie effects. For one like me that does not have enough programming experience to easily change the effects with all the hundred or more different parameters - I can just change the entire "studio" for a different Leslie (note that the name "studio" is not featured in the PC3 manuals, but it is what KDFX called a particular effects setup in the earlier years).

I also own a NE3-73 (bought back when OS 1.35 was on the PC3); but I do any single board gigs now with the PC3 (I do still set both boards up when I do any dual board gigs or at chuch with the PC2 that I leave there). The two complement each other well, but I don't find it necessary to always have the Electro any more. I do still like my Electro - but primarily for easy live effects changes on the piano side and for its very light weight.
