Not to doubt your opinion but I see way more Yamaha Motif series stuff out
there than much of anything else. They're big with the rock and country guys.
I tried my damnest to like the Kurzweil stuff but no matter what I tried
they're pianos just didn't cut it and the organ sound reminded me of the
original Korg CX/BX series.I know the Kurz's are big with people that do
film scoring but I personally have not seen them much.YMMV

The K series Kurzweils are one of the most popular keyboards on professional
tours. I have yet to hear one buried in the mix.
They do have a "Rock Piano" patch that is more Yamaha like and it really
cuts through like a CP70 Electric Grand. Their 73 key
keyboards are "semi-weighted" which some players prefer for multi-use
keyboards but the 88 key keyboards are "fully-weighted
and some piano players will only be comfortable with that piano feel they
are used to. I have several Kurzweils (older K Series
(K2000, K2500RS, K2600RS)) and I really like the sounds but have yet to try
a PC3. There are so many great keyboards out there
these days that selection really comes down to personal preference. I would
like to hear the new PC3 organ as that is one thing
the Kurzweil factory patches have always been a little weak on. I would like
to see the PC3 in a rack version but apparently there
has not been enough demand for a rack yet.

Note that Kurzweil does not make a rack mount for the PC3 series, so
whatever you were using was from an older line.
