That doesn't do the same thing - you still get all the leslie
modelling, with the horns at whatever location they stopped at.

You can send sysex to the module to disable the leslie and enable
different amp models, but I don't have the details to hand (I'm at
work at the moment). I don't think it is possible to totally disable
the amp simulators though - but I might be wrong!
