Hi Simon

I hear where you coming from, the fact that a 9 piece band exists at all is
amazing, and keys can be the least loved part of a band. As one guitarist said
to me recently, I don't like playing with keyboard players, they can usually
read music. Guess you will have to do the best you can with the VK7 - at least
you will have real drawbars!!

Cheers

Mark

Because all I can afford *myself* is my second-hand Casio WK-3000. We gigged
successfully with it for two years, and then the chance to get the Wurlitzer
came up, and since I was using only organ and Wurly sounds anyway, I
persuaded the band to buy it. It's a beautiful instrument to play, but it's
heavy, temperamental, fragile and generally a liability - it's a near
miracle that in over a year of playing, gigging and recording I haven't
broken a single reed. The band is now going to try and get an E-Mu Classic
Keys module on Ebay which will give a pretty realistic Wurly sound when
MIDI'd to the touch-sensitive VK-7. And I'm NOT going to tell them where
they can stick it, because:

1. this is the best band I've ever been in
2. they're a really nice bunch of people
3. the band is more important than my precious "vintage keyboard" ego trip
