I have a Numa and a VK8m. I still like the VK8m ( with bypass) but I was having a hard time finding a controller I liked and I also like the Numa leslie sim. It is just very natural sounding.
The raw Numa sound and the VK8m have more in common than you might expect. The chorus vibrato ( C-3, no sim) is actually quite similar.
And the VK8m has more overdrive options. But it is a module and you have to find that magic controller.
There are some organ models or samples, whatever or whichever that seem to try to add "character" to the sound as if to provide more "meat" or "punch" or some other such thing to the Hammond sound. When confronted with that I generally look another way.
So yes,the Numa is just basically the natural Hammond sound. No frills really. It has great chorus vibrato, leslie sim and controller in one package - no add ons needed.
