The Spectrum Synth is a simply amazing virtual analog synth (digital). It cannot be programmed from the front panel, but has a synth engine comparable to the (analog) Oberheim Matrix-1000, but with a better MIDI implementation and stereo outputs. You will need some kind of PC software, or a Peavey PC-1600, to program it very well. It has something like over 200 parameters and can get some truly amazing sounds. I have two of them, and one of them gets a big figity about its power switch... sometimes I have to turn it on more than once to get it to boot properly. The other downsize is those gigantic 16VAC wall warts that all Peaveys use. -pc
