I posted several months ago about problems I was having with MS regarding obtaining a subwoof out kit for my KBR-3D. I bought the unit from Sweetwater, (the first one didn't function at all so had to return it and get a replacement...Sweetwater's customer service is legendary for good reason!) and finally had to have Sweetwater CEO Chuck Surack intervene. It took about 2 1/2 months, but I finally got the kit from Motion Sound (after a testy note from MS' CEO asking me not to involve Sweetwater further), and, in fact, they sent a second kit out about two weeks later (which serves to show that their right hand doesn't seem to know what their proverbial left hand is doing), both of which were incomplete, lacking the "Subwoof Out" decal. I installed the kit (and have a spare) and am living without the label. Anyway, the key to getting even mediocre customer service from MS seems to be turning up the heat on them through their distributors.

That said, I love my KBR-3D, and the FOH sound guys hate it...even in outdoor venues, requesting I turn it down so they can better balance the mix. While the KBR-3D works great on its own, I often use it with an R3-147 rack unit, run through a pair of 3-way powered speakers on the other side of the stage, which produces a great dual-Leslie effect! Another huge benefit of the KBR-3D for me (besides its compact size) is the two stereo channels (one with an expand function), which allow me to plug up two additional keyboards in stereo, not processed by the rotary channel. I typically only use the expand channel though for additional keys, since I have a board in the rack, which also allows me to run my mic and harmonizer through the unit for solo gigs. It makes a great little all-in-one keyboard amp/PA system and has plenty of power for most medium rooms, especially with a subwoof carrying the low end.

I sincerely hope that Motion Sound and their current ownership gets their poop in a group soon. I've used their products since '94 (I still have an original solid state Pro-3 and it's still going strong 17-years later) and really like them a lot!
