Rick Melick, aka Stereo Ricardo, Joe Bonamassa's Hammond/keys guy, told me he put a Trek pre in his touring B3 rig for stability reasons, less fix-it problems with an AO-28 on the tour as he brings his rig with him around the world, and also to stay out of "his boss's" way of frequency ranges.
