Subject:Kronos

David,

It's definately new technology as the Kronos has 9 different sound engines that share processing on a multi-core processor. I would also think that the audio specs are much improved (# of bits/sample rate/fidelity etc.). So it's definately new technology (at least the Hardware wise)... however, it may just be a simple "porting" of the old BX3 code to this new processor/architecture, in which case it's still the same sounds (although perhaps slightly higher fidelity).

I had heard that they had made improvements to the BX3 but if the have it certainly wasn't apparent in the patches I tried.

Regards,
Craig MacDonald

Well, isn't Hammond using 6-7 year old technology (VASE III) in the new Sk1? And
Roland...well. ..the less said about Roland's recent organ-style offerings, the
better.

I am surprised that the Kronos is using 8 year old CX3 technology for
their organ section.
