Subject:Re: NUMA of SK-1 or Crumar

I would be surprised if Hammond Suzuki lets the SK-1 price slip much below
$1999.00. There is a huge amount of interest in this board and to their
credit they have some great additional sounds and a ridiculously light weight
going for it.

Still, when I hear those demos of the leslie sim in the upper octaves I am
not sure its going to be in the same league with the European sims out at
this time.

As far as quirks, problems and lack of support with the Numa I absolutely
do not agree. The Numa does not behave similarly to an XK3 ( the presets
require independent chorus vibrato selection) and some Hammond owners seem
to have problems with that. I certainly haven't had any problems with mine
and as far as support goes the people at American Music and Sound who
distribute the Numa ( and also Nord, Kurzweil, Beyer Dynamic, Allen and Heath
etc.etc.etc.) are very available, at least to me.

They ( AMS) may not "get" the Numa like some of us do but they ALWAYS
either answer my calls or get back soon. If there was a service issue for me on
it, I am covered for 2 years.

I got through the presets OS update with a little help from a few list
members. I haven't tried changing soundsets yet.

In the long run it's just going to come down to a matter of personal
preference, like deciding which car is right for you. At this point they are all
have something to offer .
