Got to agree about Quatermass. Pete Robinson was a brilliant rock Hammond
player.
Saw them live and Robinson achieved pretty much what he did on record, using a
Hommond L100, two Leslies, miked up, and a Hohner Clavinet, with wah pedal.
They're all English. Robinson paid his dues playing with guys like Chris Farlowe
in the 1960s.
Bass player/vocalist, John Gustafson came out Liverpool, along with the Beatles.
Played with a group called the Big Three, I believe.
And drummer Mick Underwood was in Episode Six, with Ian Gillan, I think, a
pre-cursor to Deep Purple.
All brilliant musicians. Think they split because they were disillusioned at the
lack of recognition they got. Sadly under-rated.
More great Pete Robinson solos on Up on the Ground and Make up Your Mind.
