Of course you can do this.. when you connect the C2 to the Motif via midi you are just sending note information NOT sound/audio.. your synth bass sounds will still comes out of the Motif, and your organ sounds will still come out of the Nord. So you will definately need to send the audio outs from both instruments to an amp or amps.

It would probably be wise for you to read up a little on MIDI so you understand it better, it's basically a serial interface that transmits and receives NOTE information (along with other data such as velocity, modulation etc). The way it works is you connect a midi cable from your NORD c2 midi OUT to the Motif Midi IN, you make sure that you set the midi transmit channel on the NORD C2 and the midi receive channel on the MOTIF to the same channel (from 1-16), and once you have it set up correctly when you press a key on the C2 it sends a "note on" to the MOTIF and the MOTIF plays the corresponding sound.

When you release the note on the C2 the C2 will send a "note off" message and the MOTIF will stop playing the note.. effectively whatever you notes you play on the C2 will be played by the MOTIF. There are a few quirks.. for instance you have to select the right midi channel/transmit mode if you want to send velocity information.

I'm sure you'll sort this all out without too much effort.
