Subject:OT: Kurz SP4-7 anyone? OT:
Sorry. I suppose I could find a Kurz group to post this to, but it's the opinions in THIS group I've come to rely on and trust over the years. So, although I'm stretching the boundaries a bit here, I hope I won't be ostracized for it.
Q. Has anyone played the Kurzweil SP4-7 piano?
In my quest for a good 76 key stage piano I bought a Kurz SP2-76 when they first came out and sent it back in one day. Hated it. I've grown accustomed to playing piano on semi-weighted keys over the years with Roland A33 and A37 controllers, M-Audio Prokeys 88sx, and of course my Nord E2, but the Kurz SP2 had a terrible feel. Keys felt big and clunky, awkward to play. I picked up an older Kurz SP-76 and love the feel of it. Most of the sounds are outdated though. I only use the onboard piano patch. For EPs I use it to control a Motif module in my rack.
If the SP4-7 is good I could eliminate the rack.
Opinions?
Thanks,
Jake
