Subject:salvage M-102
I might have the chance to pick up a Hammond M-102 for free. The catch is
that an octave
or so of the keys on the upper manual and ~1/2 an octave on the lower are
broken in 1/2.
No tubes are in the amps. If I'm reading the numbers on the amps right, the
bigger
chassis is an AO-28, and the smaller one behind the reverb unit is an AO-44.
It's got 2x12"
and maybe an 8" speakers. There's still factory tone generator oil attached
to the
inside of the cabinet. The drawbars still draw, but there's no way to test
anything.
My question is, Is this thing worth messing with? Either as salvage for
parts only
or for restoring?
If I really wanted one, there are M-3's fairly regularly on CraigsList in
the area for $300 +-.
Thx, Chris
