I've been tuning into this thread of late. The piano was an Italian invention, western in its origin, the organ a Greek invention even older than the piano. The Oriental is new to both instruments. If we look back when Japan started to make cars and toys that reached our shores, we looked at them and laughed. Some toys would be Budweiser beer cans turned inside out to reuse the metal. But as we all know, no one's laughing at their cars, toys and instruments now. Slow methodic approach is Japan's strength. What we see now in Japanese organ players may bloom one day the same way Hiromi did.

I spent some time in Japan and their highly disciplined nature is key to their success.

Daniel how do you like the "sardine can" style of train use when the passengers get too many and the whole car of people compresses to the point you're like a Vienna sausage in the can until the crowd lessens at each stop? But its their way of life.
