I wonder how much of the $500 goes towards the stompbox chassis, peripheral connectors, power supply, etc of which that cost would be eliminated if a clone manufacturer were to just incorporate the Vent's circuitry into the instrument's board??

I think their best bet would be to license the Vent technology/design. There is a lot of power and research in that little box
and it likely not practical (or possible) for the keyboard manufacturers to invest that much in the effects portion of the
instrument. That box is $500 for a good reason…..it’s worth it, but the manufacturers want to move keyboards at a “pricepoint”
and so compromises are made.
