I have set mine up, and the organ/Leslie sound
beats my Electro by a mile. Build quality is top
notch and I like the feel of the drawbars, even
though they are not like "the real thing". The
default overdrive setting on each factory preset
patch has a horrible "cracking" sound that you
remove by turning the overdrive knob down.
Annoying, but I'm sure it will be fixed. And, the
overdrive in general sounds terrible. As I'm not
familiar with Hammond's way of doing things, I
sat down with the manual to try and figure out
how to use the extra voices. I'm going to need to
work on them some more, as I find the manual
confusing. Mostly, they sound really good. One of
the piano's is named "Saturday", and it takes a
darn good shot at the Saturday In The Park sound.
Jury's still out on how they will sit in the live
mix. I'll have to wait until next Saturday to
find out. It will be a good test though, 400+ people outside...
