Wow! That amazes me. My XK-3 sounded warm and fat to me, but my XK-1 just sounded thin to me. Kind of like an analog/digital difference. I did like the lighter weight of the XK-1 though, and had the vent been available back then I'm sure I would have liked the XK-1 a lot more. I was trying to 'down size' at the time and I could use the XK-3 sans Leslie without too much trouble, but when I used the XK-1 on gigs and left the Leslie home I always regretted it.
