I have a few matched pairs of old RCA blackplate 6V6's. How difficult is it to rebias the amp? I've rebiased my guitar amp (Allen Encore, but it has pot and jacks to hook up a DMM so it's super easy).
If that's a long lasting solution, damn, I'll do it tonight. THanks Steve

If this is only a part time thing. As long as you don't lean on it hard. You can just swap 6V6 tubes for the 6550's. Wattage now approx 10W. Long term use will require the amp to be rebiased. Hope this helps...

You would be better off lowering the output of the amp from within. Using the power soak concept will strain the transformers. We have lowered the output of standard amps to around 10 watts. This concept is the cats butt...

Subject: [CWSG] OT: Attenuator on a Leslie
I brought this up a long time ago and never moved forward. I tried searching the forums and couldn't find a post I seem to recall Bruce had made.
I'd like to buy a power attenuator for my B3/145 rig. Can anyone recommend a good attenuator? I'm looking at Weber's products and see they have several that might work. http://www.tedweber.com/atten.htm
Do I understand correctly, that the attenuator would go in-between the amp and the crossover? If anyone has done this or knows what needs to be done I'd appreciate the input. I contacted weber and this was their response:
I’m afraid we’ve never had this question before.
I don’t know if one of our attenuators will work, as I don’t believe the
connections from speaker to amp are standard ¼” plugs. If I’m wrong, then
perhaps the mass 100 attenuator would work for you.
