I hear you. We did support for Nine Inch Nails and they used Mainstage. Along with all the gear they use on stage there are engineers off to the sides triggering parts and sounds, racks of gear. Complex but effective. NIN play their @'s off live and their crew is right behind them. Its studio live. Logic was always good for MIDI.

I do exactly the same thing live. I created the patches when I learned the tunes, long before we decided to record. When we finally got around to these demo snippets, I simply sent him a left & right from my laptop's audio jack (not midi info).

The future is here, and it's Apple Mainstage.
