Daniel, again thanks for adding to the depth of all that is synthesis. Yes waves that we can't reach just yet. Sure glad we have multi-faceted members on this forum. Always wondered about the DX-7 and what new planes they were investigating. They had a good run there for a while as being the board of choice. Phase distortion, just learned something new today. Got to get back into this and do a refresher.

More exactly: DCW function changes the speed how the wave is read
from the memory, thus creating phase distortion, which in effect
changes harmonic content and simulates LPF. That's the reason why
they called this type of synthesis PD - Phase Distortion. It's in
fact very similar to Yamaha DX7, which also works with phase
distortion (FM is additional).

There are even some hidden waves in CZ synths, not normally

VZ1 synth and others were even better, they used more elaborated iPD
system with more complex structure.
