Yeah Garth was always hip.
The 80's had some tremendous synths and most of us seeing it happen for the first time coming off of temperature sensitive monophonic synths, were blown away being able to play a mere triad let alone 8 freakin notes and at the same time mesmerized by the sticker price.
Yup that lush stacked Oberheim "Jump" tone. $5k for an 8 voice max synth. Now it comes in a download??
Remember the $10k Prophet 10's? I saw the keys player for Toni Basil use one at the Four Seasons studio in LA back in the 80's when they (the 10) were heard of but not seen anywhere. I guess he could afford it after making "Mickey!" $10k in 1980? Two Corvettes? Off the lot, T- roof?
Man are we spoiled.
