Club "Smoke" uptown NY by Columbia Univ for live music, or BB Kings in Times Square. You could try midtown Manhattan for some stores; Sam Ash has a huge building @ 44th street IIRC, and a guy at Armen's Music @ 30th street. You can find them on the web or ebay, check out their inventory first. Dress warm!
