Bruce and All
You spoke of the Nord C1-C2 Half-moon Switch ..
I have one ...and it functions fine with my NE3 and Vent ..
HOWEVER
It may function fine ..but it was not for me ....
...I for one am used to 35 yrs of the smooth bakelite feel and rounded edges
of the Hammond / Leslie
Half-moon ....I could not get used to the metal feel of the Nord Halfmoon ..and
the tight movement of the switch (which i am sure would loosen over time ) . so
i purchased a Half-moon switch from Ashby Solutions ...(Bruce Wahler) . I now
have a foot switch from Ashby Solutions also ...and am debating still weather i
like a foot switch or what I am used to and that is
the Half-moon left hand on-off. and as always ...YMMV
Playing organ to me is a lot of usage of swell pedal ..an left foot to a remote
foot switch is awkward ....(you can teach an old dog a few things ..but old
habits die hard ).
As of this post ......my fave is still the Half Moon !!!!!

Subject: [CWSG] The Ventilator Remote
Hi All,
There has been lots of talk about the new Ventilator Remote Footswitch,
the control pedal that Neo Instruments debuted recently. There have
also been discussions about which commercially-available pedals work
with the Vent, and which do not. Much of the talk is speculation, and
some of it is incorrect. As an authorized dealer and accessory
manufacturer, I'd like to add my $0.02USD. My apologies for the
cross-posting, but there are threads on both the Clonewheel and Electro
forums.
* The Ventilator Remote is now in beta testing. Unless you are one
of the fortunate few who are have a beta unit, you can order one
from your dealer now, but they aren't going to ship it to you next
week. They should be available within 90 days.
* The US street price is around $80 (USD).
* Is the Ventilator Remote 'better' than other footswitch pedals
(and halfmoons) that control the Ventilator? The answer is both
yes and no. The Vent Remote is certainly more flexible: It can
have eight different setups; and it allows for special modes like
non-latching speed control, so that players can use the Remote
like they do a sustain pedal, to add accents of vibrato to their
solos. It's also re-configurable in a matter of a couple of
minutes, without soldering, using the positions of the DIP switch
on the PC board inside the case.
* If you are certain that you only want one of the 'standard'
control styles -- what I've dubbed '122-style' and '760-style' --
and never intend to change, a passive control switch will work.
There is a simple diagram in the Ventilator manual that shows the
wiring for 760-style; the wiring for 122-style or Fast/Slow-only
is different, but no more complicated. We also sell these types
of pedals at Ashby Solutions.
* In addition, a halfmoon switch can be used, for those who prefer a
hand controller. Ashby Solutions makes 2-way (Chorale-Tremolo)
and 3-way (Chorale-Off-Tremolo) halfmoons, and the Hammond-Suzuki
halfmoon works fine. I've been told that the Nord C1/C2 halfmoon
also works, but I haven't confirmed this. Perhaps someone on the
list can confirm or refute this?
* Right *out of the box*, Motion Sound, Vox, Fender, Marshall, TC
Electronic, etc. footswitches will not work with the Vent -- at
least, not as intended. (Some of them may partly work, but there
will be glitches.) Many of them can be made to work, if you are
handy at soldering. Depending on the particular footswitch, you
may need to change a few connections, or completely rewire the
switch. Using pedals with LEDs is *not* recommended.
* Sustain pedals will *not* work with the Vent, not even the ones
with a TRS plug on the cable. Depending on the circuit used
inside the pedal, some sustain pedals could be rewired to work.
