*As far as what the process is..*
*I would record drums..bass..some keyboard tracks..then would send them to
Robert (guitarist) sometimes with a melody line of me on synth guitar to
give him an idea I have for a melody & sometimes not..*
*He would just come up with these brilliant melodies & then a blazing solo &
we would have it..*

*From the technical side..I make an mp3 mix with a 1 bar click track for him
to line up his parts..I use ProTools & he has Logic..No problems there. he
would send me back an mp3 with his guitar added to my original mix..*
*We would go back & forth till we both felt the parts were right..Then he
would send me his AIFF large files of his final guitar trax..Sometimes 4-5
of them..I had him record them dry & I added all the guitar efx. He's very
trusting!*
*He records line out of his amp. Fender Strat with hod rod pickups I guess.*
*I would make a mix with all the parts & then we would go back & forth on
how the mixes were going.*
*Sometimes this internet collab business doesn't work when you start
disagreeing on everything..For Robert & I it just gelled. He 'gets' where i
am going with my music..It was a real pleasure!!*
*We got to shred a bit on a couple songs..Trading licks a'la Jan Hammer/Jeff
Beck!!*
*I did a few organ solo's on various songs using my Nord Stage..No Vent!! I
wish.*
*Amp sim "1" gives it a nice bite. ProTools has a great "stereo wide" plug
in that i would use for the organ & also for his guitar trax..Nice spread
that way. *
*I did a lot of Rhodes Clav Wurly sounds as well on the Nord..Yamaha Motif
for all the synth pads & a little horns.*
*Drums are all Yamaha..bass was played on the keyboards..Everything is
played live except for the drum trax..*
*I don't use a sequencer. If I can't play it it doesn't get recorded. I
didn't play all these years for nothing!! LOL!*
*I have a new drum program now called "EZ Drummer' so that opens up a whole
new sound for future projects..*
