Dan Forro-

I don't know that perfect pitch is something that a person is born with. As I
said before, the few blind musicians I've have encountered have it. That would
lead me to believe that since their hearing tends to be better developed than
most sighted persons, for the purpose of survival, perfect pitch is part of
that package. That means it is something that they managed to develop, albeit
without trying to. In my case, my brother also has it, as does one of my
cousins. But we all started in our musical studies at very early ages, and I
think it was such an important part of our lives, that we just developed it
somewhat unconciously. When I found out that other people couldn't do it, I was
quite surprised. I thought it was an ability everyone had. In short, I think
it's aquestion of nature vs. nurture, and I lean heavily in favor of nurture.
