Goff, you wrote a bunch of words there but I'm not sure what your point is.
Of course the Vent leslie sim (and other modern sims too) is of a miced
leslie. That is why the cabinet is modelled, the drivers are modelled, the
amp overdrive is modelled, the horn and rotor is modelled, and THE MIC IS
MODELLED. You can change the distance of the mics which has a pronounced
effect on the strength of the FM and AM components.
And once it is coming thru the mics, it is only as stereo as you have the
spread control set, not 360 degrees at all. It becomes 360 degrees again
when your speaker blasts it out into the room, but this does not reconstruct
the acoustic phenomenon of a real air spinner.
