I've noticed that the off-axis stop on other leslie sims could result in
a noticeably colored and somewhat dull sound. Never heard it on the
Vent, as I have the newer style.

When listening to a leslie naturally ( not hearing the output of close
mics ), it's obvious but not objectionable that the rotors are stopping
in various directions. With close-micing it seems much more apparent, at
least on the sims. I haven't experimented with this on a real leslie.
