I don’t know that I would call a random stop point a “feature” in a Leslie but rather something over which there was no control.
I would prefer to have the tone predictable when the “rotor” is stopped. In fact that was a common complaint when recording
that the rotor wouldn’t consistently stop in the same place when mic’d. As far as the choral midpoint when going from fast to
stop goes, with the 11pin control adapter (or direct) I can accomplish this with the halfmoon switch if I am so inclined.

I find this interesting. I would think that the random "it stops where it stops"
feature would be more true to the original. What other differences are there
between newer and older Vents? This is the first I have heard of any differences
between production runs.

On the newer Vents, the 'rotors' always stop in front.

On older Vents, it was a random thing.
