Subject:Re: ROLANDS NEW DOUBLE MANUAL!!!
Whoa.....tough crowd.
None of us have yet seen or played this instrument
(or even had the opportunity to scope out The Manual).
I (for one) bet that this thing kicks ass!.....in the right hands.
It's being marketed to the Lowrey/Thomas/Kimball/etc. crew.
Try to look past that.
Forget about all the "crap" on it that you "don't like/would never use", and dig on the good stuff!
As we all know, the current VK8(M) engine is no slouch. This'll likely up the ante.
With a full set of drawbars for each manual, there'll undoubtedly be every conceivable flavour of V/C, Leslie, reverb, presets, EQ, MIDI, etc., etc., etc.
4 octaves on the upper manual,
5 (and change) on the lower,
and a choice of the number of bass pedals
gives you plenty of "real estate".
The trump ace for this rig is Roland's state-of-the-art SuperNatural Acoustic and Electric Pianos, as found in their top-of-the-line digital pianos. (major clue: lower manual extending to low A)
A guy could use this to be rippin' and dancin' to any "B" he could cook up. And then some.
Again: I'll bet that this thing kicks ass!.....in the right hands.
