Hey Jessica -
your post was a Godsend - I've been contemplating to do a lower manual for my NE2-73 for a few years. For the past few years I've been using my old Yamaha PSR-300 as a lower manual, yet mounted ABOVE, because of it's shape and controls, which has resulted in a strange playing technique :-)
The M-Audio61 has looked appealing, since it has no stuff on its top panel behind the keys, so it could be mounted very close to the upper manual as in a real 2 manual rig. Yet until now I had not heard if the M-Audio61 was a satisfactory board.

And this has set the brainwheels in rotation.
I'm thinking of building a single wooden "shelf" or keybed holder, with the upper cover being big and strong enough to nest my Nord in proper position on top of it, yet not being permanently attached, so it will make transportation easy. The single-board organ and matching lower manual can then occupy one tier on my Z stand, and the second tier will be free for a digital piano.
That's the idea in words.
Now to find a decent price on an M-Audio61 to be chopped, get some wood, and get going.....
