Subject:Re: NUMA organ questions / There IS room for improvement....
Great post, Gary... I absolutely agree....
I have played my XK3c with numerous preamp/amp configurations and they
all sounded good. One config had a SE preamp going into a 2101.
Another a SE AMA into the 2101. Another a SE AMA straight into the
amp.. and now using only the stock XK3c with vintage tubes going into
EV360's... All these configs sound great. It just depends on the music
you are playing and what sound you desire.
Again, I play the XK3c not because it may sound better than the other
clones, but because it reflects the original Hammond console user
interface closer than any other clone out there. The sounds are so
close between clones that user interface is now the chief metric to my
playing experience. Not if one Leslie sim sounds a little better than
another... or if the click is louder or softer.
