That is why a lot of the rompler patches suck so bad. They sample them with a leslie set on chorale, and any additional leslie effect you may use just sounds like a phasey garbage. I do not think the VK-8 or VR 760 use samples, and they do have a lot of available editing parameters, so I am willing to bet that somewhere in the editing structure you can disable the internal leslie effect.

Subject: [CWSG] Ventilator -- Okay, NOW I get it!
I bought a Ventilator a while back to use with my Roland VR-760 and Korg BX-3. I focused primarily on the VR-760, since I gig with it and the BX-3 wasn't set up. I've spent several evenings tweaking the VR-760/Vent combo and used it at a number of gigs, but I just haven't been able to get them dialed in to my satisfaction. (My hunch is that the VR-760's Amp modeling, which you can't disable, conflicts with the Vent somehow.) Anyway, I gave up and went back to using the VR's Leslie sim and was considering putting the Vent up for sale.
However, tonight I finally had some free time to get the BX-3 set up. Plugged it into the Vent, switched off the BX-3's Leslie sim and... Great Googly Moogly! NOW I understand! The Vent made my BX-3 sound like a completely different beast! Needless to say, the Vent stays.
And if anyone has any suggestions for using the Vent with a Roland VR-760 or VK-8, I'd love to hear 'em.
