Subject:Re: HOLY CRAP!!! VB3 KICKS A$$!!!

. . . It's led me to the point where I would like some details from those of you who use it live. What do you use to control it? This is the part I'm most concerned about, I have a CME UX 70 and had a hard time setting it up to control the drawbars. What do you use as a host? Laptop? Anyone try a Netbook? Any freeware VST hosts that work great? Do you use onboard audio outs or a USB audio interface? Please everyone the more details the better. How well does it hold up live??? Against the rest of the band???

I use it with Logic MainStage, the most brilliant piece of software imaginable for a contemporary keyboardist. Setting up drawbars, knobs and buttons in MS is an absolute dream. My current controller is the quite reasonable Edirol PCR-800, which I believe has since been replaced by the Roland A-800PRO.These are rock-solid boards with nice actions. I am waiting for someone, other than CME, to make a 73-key board with sufficient controllers, I can't believe there is no apparent market for them. The Infinite Response VAX77 is a brilliant board but stupid money. How is your controller? The CME price points are certainly enticing but I've read nothing but dismaying reviews, if not outright warnings to stay away.
I haven't tried the VB3 on stage yet as I just got my registration this morning, but I have no concerns. My NI B4II served me well and this will smoke it - I can't wait until next weekend.
