They undoubtedly do. Every tonewheel Hammond I've ever owned sounded different also. I've had a couple of Hammonds that sounded better than my Numa, but I've also had a few that didn't sound as good.
Actually, I have done quite a bit of experimenting with the Numa, trying it with and without a Vent, with and without a tube pre amp (a good one), and with a graphic EQ. Surprisingly, I achieved the most noticable improvement running it through an inexpensive 9 band stereo EQ (a Behringer mini FB9 of all things). Go figure.
