Subject:Basic Questions Re. Virtual Hammond setup
Hi All,
For the longest time I have not paid much attention to discussions on the B4 etc. Now at this time I have done a 180 and I'm considering trying it since I'm considering buying my first laptop (PC/Windows7) so I have some very basic questions. (up till now, I only have desktop Macs and I play "out of the house" so that has been the main reason against VI. BTW I will opt for PC because of cost. I am not in love with Mac or anything like that, I only use them because they are "cast offs" from my wife who MUST have a Mac)
In looking around, it seems the B4 has been discontinued and the Vintage organs is the replacement. Is this what you guys understand to be true? Are there any alternatives?
Do you need any other software to run the B4 (if available) or Vintage Organs or do they operate stand-alone? If so, what other software to I need to run the organ software.
Most of the virtual instrument discussions I have noticed seem to be related to interface issues and it seems there are many choices but if you have any suggestions for a simple "starter" set-up, that would be appreciated too.
Thanks,
Rock
