Subject:Numa likes / dislikes

I just got a Numa organ--gave up my XK3c--I was getting all I wanted from the 3c except for one thing--For me, these day's it just weighed too much--so the Numa-
I like the out of the box right on sound-the Xk took me a long time to get tweaked- The lack of tweakability in the Numa is both a plus and a minus for me-
You really wish for a overriding percussion volume control, and at least a max and min speed control on the Leslie sim-as I like the Vent much better this is not an issue with me--What is an issue is the leakage control--They tied a leaking capacitor/bad ground hum-with the leaking tonewheel crosstalk. I don't know ANYBODY who wants that background hum.
The pitch wheel as applied to the organ is useless--it has a bizarre unlinear response--havn't tried it yet with outboard gear
My Numa also has a slight pre-set annomaly- When you go to another preset beside the "live" key and then go back-you should be returned to your previous "live" stting--mine does not do this- only the live drawbar setting is returned unless you hit the "B flat" key and then the "B" key--
I found that setting my Traynor K4 to solid state preamp and adjusting for a clean sound had a major difference on the "punch" and getting an all out screaming sound out of the Numa--
So , I have it dialed in and am basicaly happy with the rig--The major advantage for me is the incredible 22 pound weight, and not having to dink with it to get "that" sound --
Yes I miss many things about my XK3c but I am happy I decided to go Numa -
