Subject:Phase Shifting "caused by the XK3c"

David,

Thanks for providing the update, on your XK3c/Ventilator phase shifting issue.  I'm glad to hear that you resolved the problem!!  Just a quick point.. you stated "caused by the XK3c" but I think that rather than saying it was caused by the XK3c it might be more appropriate to have said "unique to the XK3c".

If you recall my earlier response, I think that these crazy phase shifting/flanging effects are actually caused by the interaction of two effects (chorus/leslie sim) both acting on the pitch of the same signal and doing so with digital precision. In this case, it's not really either of the devices that are to blame but the unique combination of the two (and I suspect that if any of us took the time to investigate this we could find a similar effect on our Nords, Korgs and Rolands etc).

You seem to have found a way to highlight this effect with your choice of chords and drawbar settings, and similarly you seem to have figured out how to minimize this effect by changing the speed of the chorus/vibrato settings.  I think this just illustrates how particular and determined you are when it comes to testing and understand our clones.

It's good to have you on this list, looking out for all of our interests!! Thanks.

Regards,
Craig MacDonald

XK3 ventilator phase shift update

After tweaking my XK3c and vent I discovered some settings that almost completely stop the dreaded phase shifting with the chorus on and the vent on fast. If you set your chorus speed at 6.83, tremolo at 7, and emphasis at 8, then set your vent speed control at 12:15, it Stops the phase shifting caused by the XK3c.
