You don't need one. You do need one to load the VSTs on the Mojo, tough. And possibly a minimum of software expertise in doing this kind of things.

You did not get an answer probably because right now there isn't one. As they wrote: "someday may happen", it doesn't imply that right now that is planned. The potential is there, but I seriously doubt someone is working on that right now.

Regarding the installation of updates (or, actually, additional VSTs), at the moment you need to load the files on an usb stick, connect a monitor and a mouse to the instrument, connect the stick and then apply manually. The updates are basicalla doubleclick things, of course, and I don't se why an hypothetical official future software to add more sounds would be any different (we're talking software here, not hardware).
