Subject:Re: Just got my Hammond Sk1 - initial reaction/problem?
Shame HS have screwed up on the EV's. Given the number big name of live acts that take an XK3 and Nord on tour (Jim Beard in Steely Dan being the most recent example I have seen), there would seem to be an untapped demand from big name performers down to an amateurs like me for the HS organ engine coupled with high quality EP's, acoustic pianos and mainstream synth presets in the one lightweight box. There has been 30 years of development of EV's and 15 years with VST's, how hard can it be program these today? A DX7 would have been unusable if it had the issues Craig describes.

I am surprised at the number of people that have acknowledged this problem (between this and other lists/sources). I think some folks are just living with it, because they've bought it primarily for the organ sounds.
The one thing I will say is that if I turned the master treble all the way down, I could almost completely eliminate the noise.. but I don't see that as a viable solution.. (because obviously this would affect the organ sounds as well).
Needless to say, I am anxiously waiting to see what I hear back from Hammond on this!
