I am not suprised that it has a separate sound processor. I would think it would be vastly superior to whatever was installed on the motherboard

No. It has an additional soundcard, the integrated one is present but disabled, you could theoretically enable it from the bios (there are even dedicated in e aut ports available…probably because all of this was part of the integrated mobo that Crumar is using), I haven't tried that but Andrea (one of Crumar's main people) warned me that he doubts it will be much useful for playing, since it will probably have some latency.
