Subject:Re: CX3 "sticking" "hanging" of 1 1/3' and 1' drawbar notes.

Difficult to say where problem can be, maybe it would be worth trying
to disconnect and connect connectors inside the instrument to exclude
some other mechanical issues... If there's no improvement then I
would suppose software problem, maybe I would try to reload OS.

In the Service Manual there's written how to enter diagnostics test,
but without any detailed description so I would hesitate to try it.

[ P r o g r a m 4 ] + [ P r o g r a m 6 ] + P o w e r O N :
Completion test
( Internal test + External test )
[Percussion 3rd]: ITEM UP
[Percussion Soft]: ITEM DOWN
[Percussion 3rd]: STEP UP
[Percussion Fast]: STEP DOWN

N O T E :
1. When the internal test is executed, the factory preset (Preset and
Global) data is damaged. To return the factory preset data, please
execute:

[ P r o g r a m 2 ] + [ P r o g r a m 7 ] + P o w e r O N

2. It is sometimes seen that the step to the tests of DSP3, DSP4 or
keyboard become slow.

Better to leave such test to authorized Korg service center, as well
as reloading OS...

Shortly after purchasing of my CX3 two years ago strange things
started to occur without any reason, some unpleasant noise whatever I
played, and the instrument became unusable. I have sent it back to
Korg and they had to change motherboard. Without warranty it would be
probably expensive repair... and question is if they still have spare
parts. At least here in Japan there's some rule or law, that
manufacturer doesn't need to keep spare parts for products older than
10 years. From my personal experience I'm sure that Yamaha and Kawai
have this policy, I suppose Korg will have similar.
