Subject:Nord CP Combo Organ - with drawbars
Hello Pax and all,
Hi All
Got amazed with this Nord drawing:
Here the so called "yahoo permalinks" (login to CWSG acct. is needed)
Nord CP Organ 024

Here both versions seems to be similar to the NORD original (no drawbars)

Just curious as didn't fully understand the plan:
Will have the final version, drawbars on top tier according to this drawing ?

Highly appreciate your response.

With all the extensive discussions about the Clontrol going on, I figured I'd show the development of my Nord set-up.
I had a Nord Electro 3, (which I liked), and I really loved the idea of the Nord Combo organ. But...I also needed other sounds EP's, etc, for my band and I'd rather not be carting extra boards anymore.
So.... I bought a second E3, stripped them apart, and conjoined them into a single Combo-style unit.
Big job, but well worth the effort. This has been my rig for a while now.
I've uploaded some photos into Photo Album "Nord CP Electro 3 Combo Organ". (I'm not sure how to add a direct link to them here.)
Recently I got the desire to add real drawbars. The Oceanbeach unit looks great, but I wanted upper, lower & bass controls and preferably real-style drawbars. I did consider two Oceanbeach units, but that's getting very pricey and they were out of stock at the time anyway. So I did a bit of research and built a set using a controller from Midi Hardware and a pot & knob set from Doepfer.
I've now started on a Mark2 Combo Organ version which will include 20 drawbars and extra button controls for presets & various other things. There are some pics of that too.
It's coming together nicely so far.
This is definitely a one-off. I have no desire whatsoever to produce it commercially. The labour alone would put the price out of most musician's reach. (Something I think the Clontrol guys are probably learning the hard way at the moment.)
I hope you enjoy the journey.
Cheers,
Pax
