Have you noticed the size of the industry magazines have shrunk? I get Keyboard, EM, PSR, Live Sound, etc. for free every month.

Sometimes they are more like pamphlets that magazines. Marketing dollars are disappearing and so goes the MI and Pro Sound market. It’s not really a good time for new products unless they are “revolutionary”….the Ventilator qualifies but not a lot of

the other products out there do. The keyboard companies continually repackage their technology but they are deep pocket

manufacturers. Everybody and their brother offers a “boutique” tube guitar amp which is really not much more than a modded

Fender Twin or some other standard design. The price of the Clontrol will limit it to a small section of a small market so the price

will necessarily be high and the production numbers (and sales numbers) will be low. It really boils down to “is it worth it” to go

through the time and expense to manufacture. Is it practical from a business standpoint….or is it a hobby? I have been involved

in the design and manufacturing of electronic equipment including MI/Pro Sound products and believe me this is an important

question to ask yourself before “betting the farm” on a products success. Best of luck in your venture.

Regards,

Gary

The response to the Ventilator was anything but "lukewarm"!

I have rarely seen a device that has had such an overwhelmingly positive response......

That's odd, I thought the general consensus regarding the Vent on this list was a big 'two thumbs up'. I recall one rave after another, maybe I wasn't reading all the posts.
