It's good to know that we can download the different tonewheel sets. Having access to different organs is one of the huge advantages that the Numa offers.

For myself, I do not think I would like to risk having the percussion on the Numa get any louder. My "go to" sound is 3rd percussion/ slow decay, which is different than many people who like percussion fast and clunky and thunky. I like to hear the percussion tones blend into chords and I like the effect of the "paradise " percussion that Jimmy Smith used to get when he used no decay on percussion whatsoever.

On my B-3 the slow decay percussion has less volume on the atttack than fast decay. On the Numa it is about the same, so the percussion notes can be a bit loud. One of the reasons it may seem to more subtle on the B-3 is because there is actually a hell of a lot of low frequency information coming from the leslie 122 woofer and it can mask some of the highs somewhat.

I have been hearing from other ( Italian) sources that a percussion volume adjustment is in the works for another Numa OS update. I suggest to Elvio or whoever that this would be a good idea, unless I am the only one who would like to see this feature.

In my continuing experiments between listening to the Numa and a real B-3, I am starting to see some of the advantage that the Numa offers. It is incredibly well balanced in many respects. Some times after listening to it my B-3 seems a little odd actually. There are some frequency peaks in in the B-3 ,as there also are on the Numa. But I am getting great results as my playback system gets more dialed in.

I am staring to think that at least one of the playback speakers in a stereo system might benefit from using a 15 inch woofer similar to a leslie. There is something about a 15'' that is hard to beat in trying to capture"the sound".

I would like to know more about these updates though. This seems to offer the ( somewhat) incredible opportunity of downloading new organ sets. How cool is that?
