The Korg BX-3 was the first attempt by a company other than Hammond to capture not only the sound but also the appearance and overall "vibe" of a vintage B3. It was introduced in 1980, a year after its single-manual sister, the hugely successful CX-3. The BX-3 is entirely analogue, and represents a creditable early attempt to simulate a Hammond, though with its own "flavour" which some players will love and others will hate. About 20 years later, Korg produced digital versions of the CX-3 and BX-3, but apart from the names, they are completely different instruments, and much closer in sound to a real Hammond.

So the answer is; no, neither Hammond nor Suzuki had anything to do with the Korg BX-3, but it may be significant that the Korg name originally came from K(eio) ORG(an)...
