Subject:OT JBL vs QSC

After looking at the specs on both of these cabs I'm wondering why they would put 500 watts into the driver and 500 watts into the Low freq speaker.
I've always used a 3 to 1 ratio when powering components.
ie 300 watts to the lows and 100 watts to the highs.
Maybe that old standard is no longer relevant with modern technology?
Still bass frequencies are less efficient than high frequencies.
Curious if anyone has input on this theory.
